Kelly McGonical is a health psychologist and lecturer at Stanford University who is known for her work in the field of 'science help' and also the author of "The willpower instinct".The Willpower Instinct explains the new science of self-control and how it can be harnessed to improve your health, happiness, and success. Here the host and Kelly have discussed about what willpower is and why stress is its natural enemy.  Kelly McGonigal says that willpower is not just in your head, it's a bodily process that we can strengthen.Willpower is the ability to remember what your goals are and to choose to do things that are consistent with those goals and to regulate what's going on inside of your feelings.

Humans have two different strategies for survival according to Kelly, one is the basic instincts for survival, like eating when hungry. The other strategy is to think. Neuroscientist think of us as having one brain but two different minds. Eating healthy, sleeping properly and mediating plays a significant role in training the brain, this makes brain healthier. Willpower is the opposite of stressThe benefits of learning the science of willpower is that we can actually learn to slow down our breath and our heart rate willpower requires us to think about what's going to happen in the future. The first thing you need to learn about the science of willpower is that if you are struggling with temptation, then go out and look for ways people try to trick you, learn the tricks. When you are aware, it become less effective and gives you more confidence and self control.
